Case It! is a National Science Foundation - sponsored project providing a framework for collaborative case-based learning via free, open-ended molecular biology simulations and cases based primarily on genetic and infectious disease.

CaseItv6* is a simulation that performs common laboratory procedures on any DNA or protein sequence. It has all of the capabilities of the earlier version (5.03), but adds new features such as bioinformatics analysis and autoloading of DNA and protein samples to speed loading of gels, blots, ELISA, and 96-well PCR.

CaseItv6 must be used with MEGA4** to fully implement bioinformatics features. See the 'Installation' link at left for instructions on integrating Case It and MEGA4, both of which are free of charge for educational use. Contact Mark Bergland for more information.

++Tutorial links listed for v5.03 can be used for either v5.03 or v6, since the same features are found in both versions. For example, manual loading of samples is possible with both versions, but this is only described in the links for v5.03.
