Schools participating in formal assessment of current and past Case It projects: University of Wisconsin-River Falls, University of Zimbabwe, University of London, Westfield State University, and the River Falls High School.

Students analyzed DNA sequences for hypothetical "family members" being tested for a variety of genetic and/ or infectious diseases. They used the Case It! simulation to generate photos of results, which were then uploaded to web pages using the Case It web editor.

Investigator (an interactive version of the online Resource Manual) was used to help gather background information for web pages. Students then played the role of "family members" when asking questions of other groups posters, and played the role of "genetics counselors" or other professionals when responding to questions about their own posters. An integrated conferencing system was used for these interactions. Results of class-testing are described in the publications and conference proceedings linked below:
