Scroll down this page to see all of the steps for viewing text and video cases. We'll use two of the HIV cases as examples...

1. Click on the "infectious diseases" link under "Case information" below...

Note: Since this is a tutorial rather than the actual application, scroll down to see results of "clicking".

2. Click on 'HIV / AIDS', then click on 'Background'...

3. Background information appears, along with a link to additional information at the Case It web site. Click the 'HIV / AIDS' line in the upper right, then click 'Anna'...

4. A condensed version of the Anna case appears, along with instructions for analyzing the case. To see the video version of this case, click the 'Video cases' button...

...and select 'HIV U.S.' -> 'Anna' to show windows containing the video and a running transcription. The 'Video text' button is used to show or hide the text window. The 'Questions' button is used to activate a feature that allows customizable pop-up questions to interrupt the video (the Anna case is the only one that currently has optional pop-up questions, but you can create your own for this case or any other video HIV case - click this link for details.)

Note: If the video windows don't open the first time you select them, then try copying (not moving) the folder containing Investigator (and all of the cases folders) into another folder.

5. To see an example of an African case, use the same procedure as above but this time select 'HIV Africa -> Auxilia'

6. Next, we'll look at an example of a genetic case. Click the 'Next' button to continue...
