One scenario from the Breast Cancer case will be used to illustrate both the PCR and the dot blot procedures. In addition to breast cancer, the PCR procedure is part of the procedure for analyzing cases involving Tay-Sachs, Cystic Fibrosis, and PKU. See the Resource Manual for more information. (If you want to run a dot blot quickly, you can skip the PCR part and work with the original (.gen) files. However, in the real world PCR is run prior to the dot blot, so that is what we will simulate here.)
